Maple Jalapeno Corn on the Cob

Who doesn’t love fresh corn on the cob!?! A little bit of butter and salt goes a long way but have you ever tried adding some maple and jalapeno flavor?? This unique recipe is always a fan favorite at the dinner table or your next family gathering.

The secret to this recipe is the caramelized outer crunch, followed by the soft taste of corn we’ve all grown to love. This outer caramelization is created by cooking the corn until it is 95% done, then drizzling the secret sauce on top, and putting the corn under high heat to complete the cooking. You can achieve this high heat using either a grill or broiler.

If you are not a fan of spicy but still want the sweet we recommend you try this recipe but skip the jalapeno seeds. Don’t forget to enjoy it with family and friends!

Ingredients:

4 ears of corn, shucked

2 tbsp melted butter

2 tbsp Cedarvale Maple Syrup

¼ jalapeno pepper seeds (optional)

Dash of salt & pepper

Directions:

  • Using an oven:
    1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees fahrenheit. Once preheated, place corn directly in the oven for 20 - 25 minutes or until the corn kernels are soft.
    2. While the corn is cooking, mix together the melted butter, Cedarvale Maple Syrup, pepper seeds, salt, and pepper.
    3. Once the corn kernels are soft, take the corn out of the oven and place in a large pyrex dish. Pour the mixture on top of the corn and spread.
    4. Broil the corn on high for 3 - 5 minutes until the maple syrup and butter have caramelized.
    5. Enjoy with family and friends!

  • Boiling corn:
    1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Place the ears of corn in the pot and cook for 5 minutes until the corn kernels are softened.
    2. While the corn is cooking, mix together the melted butter, Cedarvale Maple Syrup, pepper seeds, salt, and pepper.
    3. Place a large piece of aluminum foil on a grill and followed by the ears of corn. Then coat the ears of corn with the maple syrup and butter mixture.
    4. Grill the corn on high for 3 - 5 minutes until the maple syrup and butter have caramelized.
    5. Enjoy with family and friends!
